Introducing the CRAWLEY armchair-bergere, in a distinctive OLIVE color with black metal legs. The high backrest is upholstered with a tufted technique that gives the armchair a special beauty, combined, of course, with the high-quality velvet fabric. The seat is comfortable, true to the character of the armchair, and a distinctive feature of this armchair is that it comes with a matching footrest. It is modern, combining style and comfort, and you can place it next to the fireplace, by a window, or even in your bedroom, and surrender to its "embrace," stretching your legs on the excellent footrest.

Mini Story: The history of the Bergere (see bergere) began around 1720, in the salons of the Palace of Versailles during the reign of Louis XV, where it was considered the armchair of the nobility and the upper bourgeoisie. Its construction from special wood, combined with the luxurious fabrics of the era, gave it the feel of a throne. From its early years, it was considered the queen of seating, both for the privacy it offered with its open arms, high back, and curved sides, and for its dominance in the space as a decorative element. Over the years (depending on the era and fashion), the Bergere armchair changed its appearance. It was dressed in floral fabrics, leather, many different patterns with special textures, and even Chesterfield. While we may have seen design variations of the bergere over the years, the arms were upholstered, the back was raised, and the cushion dimensions changed, the basic idea of the large, comfortable armchair never changed. A large, comfortable armchair is often better than an entire sofa.

In a nutshell…: Tufting is a type of fabric or a sewing technique where stitches and seams form various patterns and folds or bumps. In tufting, the fabric is "puffy," held in place by the seams, which "sink" the fabric where they are located. That is, tufting creates many small puffed-up bumps that are separated by the seams. These bumps can be rhombuses, squares, stripes, and many other patterns. The purpose of this style is to break up monotony by creating various patterns in the fabric. This improves the overall appearance of the item. It gives a sense of luxury and detail to the design.
